My concern is that as the weather warms with more and more protesters gathering en masse, Trump will call for martial law and we’ll see knee caps being shot. That question of shooting people in the legs was danced around and never denied.
Martial law suspends the rights of civilians which involves curfews, suspension of free speech, the right to gather in protests, and suspension of rights of freedom from unreasonable searches. Those who ignore martial law could be brought before a military tribunal. Travel restrictions vary so it could have a negative impact on business and commerce. We only need to understand that it’s not just our First Amendment rights being affected. The military could also confiscate civilian weapons. The military commander has unlimited power during martial law.
Trump is just going to deflect blame and use these crashes for PR stunts. May as well have them get on a normal flight, and if it crashes, they'll learn the hard way what they've done.
