I’m one of those 300,000 Missourians who signed the petition to put the very partisan 2025 gerrymandered map, which split Kansas City into three pieces and was designed to oust popular longtime Representative Emmanuel Cleaver II, thus losing one of only two Democratic seats in the entire state of Missouri, on the ballot so voters could have a say in it. And contrary to popular belief, Missouri is not a deep red state. It’s more purple at this point.
Yes republican are liars and thieves but in Texas Ken Paxton wins first place. This man makes a gang member in prison look like a saint. H has broken so many laws it would take all night to name them all. He cheated when he voted because he used his wife’s residence to vote. HE DID did not live there. Stole a $1,000.00 pen from an attorney! Yes! ( security video) Has purchased 13 HOMES. A thief.

Yes, it WAS great news, until the day unfolded and Federal Judge Stephen R. Clark issued a temporary restraining order, commanding Missouri to use the new Republican-drawn map anyway.
Also, Missouri Governor Mike Kehoe and Secretary of State Denny Hoskins have directed election authorities to use the 2025 congressional redistricting map, defying the Missouri Supreme Court's unanimous decision and the U.S. Supreme Court's ruling.
This needs a lot of coverage!

I hope a brilliant Jamie Raskin type sees this fiasco in Missouri and offers to help fight these thugs along with the very hard working "People Not Politicians" grass roots group that beautifully organized and collected 300,000 signatures to fight the unfair map to begin with.
Yeah, but a federal judge, after SCOTUS declined to take up the case, ruled that Missouri can use the 2025 maps (those used in the August 2026 primary election) on General Election Day in November and that’s what the Missouri state officials intend to do.
I am almost finished with your book Brian. It is excellent! I am learning things about history in the 60's, 70's, 80's & 90's that I did not know (despite living through most of those decades). You really struck such a great balance between historical context, practical steps our (hopefully democratically led or, at least, non-extremist Republicans with a spine) leadership simply must implement going forward and, of course, you added a bit of sarcasm & humor (which you are always able to sprinkle into your commentary like a master chef with perfect seasonings). Democrats need to counter the election “watch party”, and do our own monitoring as well. Vote for vote. Make sure no one’s cheating. You know ICE is being trained for much more than illegal immigration enforcement. It’s obvious that scare tactics are being used. Watch the real snake Miller. The Trump whisperer. I do NOT trust and NEVER will trust Clarence Thomas, Samuel Alito, Amy Coney Barrett, Neil Gorsuch, Brett Kavanugh and John G. Roberts. All six of them need to be held accountable, disbarred forever and fired right now by Us, The Overwhelming Vast Majority of Democratic Constituents, Citizens, People, Taxpayers Voters, Workers and Consumers of The United States of America for being dishonorable, evil, illegal, immoral, impertinent and lawless!!!!
You spoke too soon. Today the Republicans found another Missouri judge that ignored the state and US Supreme Courts and lifted the injunction. Election officials say they will use the gerrymandered map.
He never had the intention to do any of those things he campaigned on. Most knew it, others believed the propaganda, and more didn’t care as long as their white nationalist agenda was followed - and all those things is what got him elected. His only objective at that time and now, 1. Stay out of prison; 2. Self enrichment; 3. Power to soothe his ego; 4. Have himself exempt from justice and accountability now and in the future.
Americans are watching. These tactics won’t work. Cheating is always an act of failures.
