FAQ
Have questions about how to read my Substack? The answer is probably here! If you need additional help, please visit Substack Support.
Why subscribe to BTC?
I’m entirely supported by you, which means I’m entirely accountable to you. For just $5 a month (or $50 a year), you help me continue to do the work that I do — making sure that politics is accessible to everyone.
Can I pause my subscription?
Yes! Though it’s hard to imagine ever wanting to do so, if you’d like to pause your subscription, simply click “Pause Subscription” on your account page and select from the drop-down box how many months you’d like charges to be stopped for.
How do I cancel my subscription?
The easiest way to cancel your subscription is to go to your account page. Substack will walk you through the steps.
When you cancel your subscription, you will still have access to your paid membership for the remainder of your term. And we will always welcome you back with open arms and no questions.
How do I update my payment method?
Follow these steps to change your payment method through Substack.
I used to receive emails from BTC but they’ve stopped — what happened?
Sometimes a newsletter may appear in your email’s Promotions or Spam folders and we recommend checking both places.
If the email is in Promotions, we recommend dragging the email back to the Inbox.
If the email is in Spam, please mark this address as “not spam” and add our email address to your contact list.
If you’ve checked both places, it’s possible that a previous email was marked as Spam and your email provider blocked us from sending further emails. Get in touch with the Substack Support team here if you believe your email has been blocked.
How do I get fewer notifications?
You can edit which types of emails you want to get from me by doing one of the following:
Option 1: Log into your Substack account, head to your account Settings. You will see a list of the publications you subscribe to. Select Brian Tyler Cohen, and you will see a list of sections that you can toggle on and off to choose which newsletters to receive.
Option 2: Click “unsubscribe” at the bottom of any email from me, which takes you to a page where you can customize what you’d like to subscribe to.
