The issue I can’t reconcile is that Congressional Republicans know they as a party will be decimated in November. Yet the majority of them are so frightened of an angry phone call from Trump and intimidation from his no-name trolls on TwitterX who are protected by Musk. They see what happened to Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene as a fate worse than death. Yet, given what little power they do have, they’re willing to transfer it all to Trump on nothing more than a phone call.
If a block of Republicans held hands and took the leap together, en masse, Trump would be powerless to retaliate.
Having said all that, we have to remember we’re dealing with people like Senator Lyndsey Graham who, in explaining how he could flip from being staunchly anti-Trump in 2015-2016, to makinga complete about face in 2017 (to today). Graham said in so many words he was happy to trade his integrity and everything else in order to “remain politically relevant in Washington, DC.”

We need a group of people that is allowed into the detention centers to check on the children to make sure they’re not being assaulted, make sure they’re being fed, make sure their health needs are being met, etc..

Exactly the truth. My concern is also about the children in ICE CUSTODY. A DETENTION CENTER IS NO PLACE FOR A CHILD! THEY NEED TO HAVE A BETTER SITUATION. We need a group of people that is allowed into the detention centers to check on the children to make sure they’re not being assaulted, make sure they’re being fed, make sure their health needs are being met, etc..
