I have ONE complaint. To keep calling these criminals 'conservative' is a mistake and does a disservice to that word. These criminals need to be called out responsibly, It is not a "coordinated conservative movement" , it is a 'coordinated corrupt movement'. We need to call it what it is! Thank you!!

Thank you Brian for your steadfast reporting. We count on you to keep us informed of what’s really going on. We are in a fight for our lives and it’s not just business or life as usual. All faithful Americans must realize the corrupt evil that has infiltrated our government, our politics, our very lives on a daily basis. Yes, I totally agree that we must never capitulate as so many have already done—some in the media, our colleges and universities, our healthcare systems, our businesses, our Congress and even our courts. WHY have they capitulated? Why didn’t they just say “NO” to the bully? Do they think appeasing is going to make it all go away?

Trump has been like a bull in a China shop. It’s exhausting. I don’t know if America can withstand 3 more years of this destruction. And yet, I am heartened to see so many protesters showing up at hotels where masked and armed ICE agents are staying ready to wreak havoc on Immigrants who are truly the working backbone of our country. I am heartened to see those attorneys who really battle it out in the courts and are winning. And those investigative journalists who dig into the weeds to get to the truth.

We must all let Trump, his sycophants and especially ICE know, they are NOT welcome in our cities. We must let Trump know that Americans are not going to tolerate the violence, the lack of Due Process, the blatant disregard for our laws and the Constitution. “We, the People,” are not just going to roll over, as some have done already and allow the destruction of our America. RESIST. SPEAK UP. VOTE. FIGHT.

Quit calling him president, since he's really not. The election was stolen. I'm pretty sure there are some congressional races that were affected also.

I have said repeatedly Elon did something to the voting machines and/or the computers for election night. Trump didn’t legally win. Our state leaders need to make sure all of the elections are protected. Do we go back to hand counting?

I don't think hand counts will solve all the problems of voter suppression, malware in the registration process, hacked infrastructure, faked precincts, direct-to-cell interference, bought officials at every level, and billionaires with a takeover agenda (including suppressing the news by censorship and monopoly acquisitions).

Common Coalition has put out a big picture plan:

I am not one to cry over a lost election for too long - just want to figure out how we don't make the same mistake again and change what needs to be changed. A more recent essay on This Will Hold really spoke to me as I have had some troubling questions that I cannot find answers to.....until I read this: https://open.substack.com/pub/thiswillhold/p/how-did-43598-of-voters-cast-ballots?utm_campaign=post-expanded-share&utm_medium=web

Expand full comment

This Canadian responded with disgust and yet not totally surprised, surprised by the blatant ability to get away with what is happening in the u.s. and the disbelief of what is obvious. Watching a country that seems it is in a contagious hypnotic trance that continues to spread across the border. It is emotionally exhausting to watch. Some of my friends do not want to watch anymore. Some of us hope we can contain the contagion that is in our own backyards.

Yep. The only way to get these corporations to turn around and pay attention is turning off the CBS network. More reading and talking to real people is a great substitute for media beaten down by the state. Remember........in the end, if we do what is necessary........hit them in the wallet; they will cave to the viewers instead of the fat orange felon. #Jimmy Kimmel

This is where we are now —

"The moment we no longer have a free press, anything can happen. What makes it possible for a totalitarian or any other dictatorship to rule is that people are not informed. … If everybody always lies to you, the consequence is not that you believe the lies, but rather that nobody believes anything any longer". ~ Hannah Arendt

BTW, I went out on the street corner today to sell my banana bread for food money. I don't know if it's karma, but the more I try, the more I fail. Here in Tucson? Rain. We stayed out for about 3 hours during a lull, and I sold one banana bread and one pineapple coffee cake. So it was worth it. That'll give me enough coin to get me through till Sunday if I'm careful. Have a Merry Christmas, Someone. It's almost 2026.

When the Ellison family/group successfully acquired Paramount, parent company to CBS, I knew things were going to change and not for the better. When Bari Weiss was named editor-in-chief of CBS, I experienced a sense of foreboding that turned to disgust. It made me think back to the halcyon (yes, halcyon, really!) days of my youth when we had newspapers, newsreels at the movies, radio and only two channels of television. Radio & TV came only over the airwaves, of course. As for the news, it was real news before "entertainment news" had been birthed and the FCC had the "Fairness Doctrine" (anyone that doesn't know what that is, I would encourage "Google-ing" it and, I bet, some will be amazed!). Well, the bad and sad thing about basking in such memories of halcyon days, at least for me, is that after it a few seconds or a few minutes of warm fuzzies, my mind regroups and reality returns with a quickness and I feel like I've been pierced by a cold steel lance. It's then that I become grateful for what we do have that works today and which we so sorely need. So thanks, everyone at BTC, for everything you do to keep real news, hard news, news based on facts, cold and hard, as they often should be. If Bill Paley returned from the grave for just a bit to see what had happened to his CBS, he would shake his head, then go find a good basketball game. If by chance, he had Ed Murrow with him, Ed would pass on the game and be vociferously engaged in a conversation with Brian, et al, debating some aspect of journalism and media. I don't know exactly what that would be, but I do know one thing it wouldn't - they wouldn't be debating the truth and whether to print it in the next drop of BTC!
