As a 20-year Army veteran and DoD Cybersecurity professional, I find the SIGNAL debacle to be a stark reminder of how unqualified these “officials” are. During yesterday’s hearing, Gabbard was questioned about CUI (Controlled Unclassified Information) and admitted she hadn’t read the regulation or had any knowledge of CUI. This is incomprehensible, especially for someone who serves as a director of national intelligence and a former LTC in the Army Reserve.
Every E1 in the military is trained on CUI—it’s part of their basic and annual Information Security training required for all DoD personnel and contractors. Her lack of understanding is akin to hiring a mechanic who doesn’t know what a wrench is or a cook who doesn’t know how to use a spoon. This statement is just the tip of the iceberg, exposing the incompetence of this group of “officials” in handling even the most fundamental responsibilities.
This isn’t merely a mistake; it’s a blatant disregard for Federal and DoD rules, laws, regulations, and basic common sense. When the Speaker of the House dismisses this as just a mistake, it’s an insult to the country and to those who work tirelessly to uphold cybersecurity and information security standards. Action must be taken to hold these individuals accountable
We cannot allow this to simply disappear into the void. It must be kept front and center until someone steps down or is fired. These people are so unqualified for the positions they hold, that they don’t even understand the egregiousness of this lapse in judgement.
If my ex husband, who was a First Lieutenant in the National Guard, had committed an error of this magnitude, he would have been court martialed, and probably spent decades in prison. The people who actually did this should be much more aware of the danger of exposure of plans that put the lives of our military in jeopardy.
Like I heard Michael Fanone saying in a stack I just watched, “ None of them being qualified for the SINGLE dept they’re in charge of makes them qualified to interject on everything”(I hope I got that right)
Yes, I wondered why such a wide array of Departments were all on that one chat, while Congress is the one that can declare war. Why are these other folks playing at war games?
Another person named Joe Kent was on the text. He was the losing candidate for representative twice in WA state. Trump nominated him to be the head of Counter terrorism dept. He hasnt been confirmed yet. But he is currently Gabbards chief of staff in the interim. He had links to Nick Fuentes( white supremacist group). Also had a proud boy member managed his campaigns. He did have some counter terrorist background in the service. Believed in conspiracy theories. Par for the course.
Incredible post, and as the daughter of a WWII vet I truly thank you for your service. I especially admire anyone in Cybersecurity. It's intense. We have no idea the amount of people like you who have worked tirelessly in the background to keep us safe here and around the world. I lived through 9/11 here in NYC. I know the threats to our country have never gone away. I never take it for granted that it can happen again, and after this debacle I'm more terrified than ever it will.
Thank you for your patriotic service, for enlightening this civilian and others, and for providing the sane point of view I really needed to hear, after listening to B.S. Barbie's press briefing this afternoon and all the other traitors trying to normalize Signalgate.

It's in the P2025 playbook, do NOT leave a paper trail. Using Signal was not a mistake. It's exactly what they meant to use.
Exactly. We only found out about this because Jeffrey Goldberg was on the thread. How many more Signal, etc. conversations have been going on?
Of course saying "incompetence" is being exceptionally polite.

Notice the new unretired cheif of staff didn’t have the knowledge to be on the text? The black general he replaced DID. anti DEI again!
D(Don jr) E(Eric) I(Ivanka) 😂😂

Apparently there are no more rules, laws, or legal procedures, unless the KING says so!
And yet, the dismantling of our country goes on like an unstoppable juggernaut 😰
Thank you.
Thank you for the explanation. Frightening!
