In the wake of Trump's hateful rally, major corporate media outlets' failure to defend democracy, and widespread fear-mongering, the time to turn the page is upon us. Take action and vote like Biden
The only thing I can add to this superb call to action is the promise that the awakened majority in the United States will not go quietly into the night the day after the election if Donald Trump once again becomes a President not elected by the majority of Americans. He, his MAGA brownshirts and his Silicon Valley billionaire enablers have been stripped naked of anything but their lust for power at the expense of the American people. Americans have a long history of fighting tyrants. These too will lose.
The thing that these MAGA gravy-seal zealots appear to forget in their swaggering contempt for tree-hugging Liberals is that there are a LOT of us veterans who still know how to honor and protect the Constitution the hard way if the need arises.
Let us all pray that the vote is enough to end the madness of Trump.
Amen! This is the thing that I find so heartening over the last several years. There still are large contingents of America's 4th pillar of democracy (the free press), and those contingents are loudly and articulately educating people about the danger of Trump's MAGA fascism. And where four years ago alternative media was mostly a barren moonscape occupied by far-right talking heads, today there is a vibrant alternative coming from left of center. Brian Tyler Cohen is a superb representative of that alternative perspective. And finally there is our history as a people. Winston Churchill put it right when he said "Americans can always be trusted to do the right thing, once all other possibilities have been exhausted.” It may seem uncomplimentary, but actually it is a reflection of his other famous quote "democracy is the worst form of Government except for all those other forms that have been tried from time to time.…". We all need to have courage and believe that most people will do the right thing given the chance and the understanding of its importance. And if not... yup, like Tim and Kamala, I too am a gun owner.

MAGAts want us to be afraid. To hide, to cower, to go, "I survived 4 years before, I can do it again." I will not. The little Nazis can go climb back under their rocks, and we'll plant big boulders on top of them. Going after ballot dropboxes, pouring money into their rigged polls, disinformation, and not-so-subtle threats (We've got a little secret...). We will not obey in advance.
Michael Tomasky had a good piece in The New Republic today. Show confidence, not fear! The vibes are excellent! I'm in red, red Tennessee and our early voting has been phenomenal! Long lines to vote, sold out postcard stamps, Dems working their butts off!!
If people are upset with the decision by Bezos to kill an endorsement of Harris, instead of canceling their subscription to WAPO they should stop buying anything on Amazon or using Amazon Prime.
