Yes me too, glad there was a people victory on this one ( although I guess it comes down to loss of $ in the end, that's all they care about). I hope Trump has a brain explosion on this one.

Thank you for your solidarity . It’s good to know other countries understand all this is not what Americans want at all. At least the vast majority of us. Thank you for not blaming the people of our country, but seeing how this fool is ruining us. He actually said inflation is down. Has he ever set foot in a grocery store in his life? All I know is prices are so high there are things I don’t buy anymore. Again, thank you UK!

Only if voters become apathetic and allow it. Robber Barons ran the country in the early 1900s. People caught on and voted for people who wanted balance. We the people by the people... It took a market crash, extreme poverty and a war to fix it. Hopefully we learned better by now.

Yikes. All those things you mentioned--market crash, poverty, war--are looming as distinct possibilities. Again. Evidently we didn't learn too well.

I'm not confident that we have learned this 'lesson'... It would seem that Trump's rise is a result of the demise of our public school system. This shit all started with the Reagan administration and his puppet show for corporate America. It's ironic that the "conservatives" (SIC) still revere him even as their children are growing up and still have to live at home.

For sure it started with Reagan.. he as mostly a puppet for the deep state that is the GOP.. then and now.. Project 2025 puts on paper what the GOP has been working on behind the scenes for the past 50 yrs. The rise of the whites and corps and demise of the middle class.. we are seeing it real time..

Class warfare VS culture…..were still not getting the message out there and they still have talking points (CK for example)

Kristine's avatar

Various groups that are non MAGA and there are so many talking points it's not a targeted approach. Need key people out saying it over and over. I watched a video, (cannot remember who put it together) about the Sinclair media stations. Everyone one of them said the same thing over and over this past week. If you have Sinclair, Fox and Nextstar repeating lies, we need the equivalent for truths everywhere. But it needs to be 3-5 talking points that hit the mark. Maybe Newsome's marketing team can help.

We can't rely on just Newsome.....Democratic leadership has moved at a snails pace to try and turn this ship in terms of course direction. I agree and have previously stated that messaging for non-conservatives must be streamlined, simple and point in one direction. Too much infighting and wants along the progressive spectrum....BE/DO/HAVE. Choose our battles and the battle is destroying P2025 agenda

One of the saddest things about this fiasco—-the honest country i believed in seems hidden, if not lost. That’s MY American Dream: To live where people care about honesty and safety, with mutual respect. Not to worry about whether our people and our leaders lie profusely or work to fool us out of our necessities, our physical, financial, and religious beliefs. Don’t want any kind of fascism, racism, or any kind of fascist ideas.

You are absolutely correct and your view is in line with MLK's very honorable dream. Unfortunately, this "fiasco" has shed light on the other less honorable points of view, apparently shared by a majority of the population... those who got Trump elected. I do know that many Americans share your dream. The division is killing this country.

Actually, over 90 MILLION stayed home and did not vote. I don’t know if they were polled as to why they didn’t vote, but I suspect many could not put their racism and misogyny aside to vote for a Black Woman. They may not have wanted Trump but definitely, like Hillary, they did not want a woman. Sadly, the Patriarchy is still strong in America.

Most of the people I’ve talked to that stayed home were furious over what was going on in Gaza. That’s what cost her Michigan for sure. I tried to convince them she would be better than Biden, and certainly tRump, but when she started hanging out with Liz Cheney there was no convincing them.

Agree stats show he got 31% of the registered voters. Hardly a mandate. Too many people stayed home and did nothing. And here we are. We knew who he was before 2016 and felt the actions after 2016. I hope we see people get to the polls in all elections. Local, State and Fed all matter. It's how corruption is stacked. We hear a lot about Heritage, Federalist, the libertarians and not much about the think tanks for Democracy.

with the same sentiment, advertisers should pull ads on Sinclair and Nexstar stations who go along with this ABC bad capitulations. This whole situation is because trump doesn't like jokes about him. This wasn't about Kirk, it was about trump's ego. So they leveraged ABC with the threat of not allowing the tegna deal to go through. So...cancelling subscriptions and pulling ads has power...use it.

Now that ABC is bringing Kimmel back, do we let Sinclair and Nexstar off the hook and drop advertisements, anyway. These guys have been jerks for years. They own radio stations, too. Don't let them off the hook. They want to muzzle anyone who doesn't agree with their narrowmindedness. I love that America pushed back in a big way. Disney stock is down. Is Big Corporation more scared of losing We The People or of the dictator with diaper sores.

THIS IS HOW WE FIGHT FASCISM, PEOPLE. Dumping All Disney is an easy sacrifice compared to likely ones we face in the future.

Disney, ABC, and all corporate businesses are legally required to do their economic best for stockholders. Customers must be aware of this and punish corporations with economic injury if their actions are against the public interest. The government should protect that interest. But under Trump it does the opposite.

Disney and its ilk deserve to be punished by consumers. It’s the American way!

Before the Powell memo, corporations and the American people knew and understood that corporations had a duty to uphold the public good and then beyond that they could make profits. Powell is the one that wrote a memo and distributed it to the wealthy and corporations and recommended that they consolidate power to be able to affect the outcomes they wanted in the US government. Before that time it was unthinkable, it was taboo, and it never would have occurred to anyone or any corporation that only profits mattered.

This understanding was intentionally fostered over time through the corporate media, to the point now where there are many people who don't even know that that wasn't the norm for the majority of the time in our country. Now, the brainwashing via MSM is so complete, that the people harmed by the actions of corporations will intensely defend the wealthy and corporations that are harming them and other Americans.
